Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the Blackbox Cyber Learning Center (the “Service”), provided by Blackbox Intelligence Group LLC (“Blackbox”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
Educational use only
The Service provides cybersecurity curriculum, labs, and supporting materials intended for use in school-approved educational environments. All cybersecurity tools, techniques, and skills described in the Service must only be used for defensive, educational, and lawful purposes against systems you own or have explicit written permission to test.
Use of any material from the Service to attack, probe, or interfere with systems you do not own or have authorization to test is strictly prohibited and is a violation of these Terms, school policy, and applicable law.
Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
License to schools and educators
Subject to a valid subscription, Blackbox grants the purchasing school or educator a non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited license to access and use the Service's curriculum with enrolled students for the duration of the subscription term. Curriculum may be customized for use within the licensed organization but may not be redistributed, resold, or shared with parties outside the licensed organization without written permission.
Payments
Subscription fees are billed in advance for the term selected at checkout. Refunds are handled on a case-by-case basis within the first 30 days of an initial subscription. Renewal terms, cancellation, and refund details are communicated at the time of purchase and on the order confirmation.
Acceptable use
- Do not attempt to disrupt, overload, or compromise the Service.
- Do not attempt to bypass authentication, entitlement, or licensing controls.
- Do not upload malicious content or content that infringes intellectual property.
- Do not use the Service to harass, threaten, or harm others.
Disclaimer & limitation of liability
The Service is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Blackbox is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid Blackbox in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Termination
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Upon termination, your license to access the Service ends. Sections intended to survive termination (intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, governing law) will remain in effect.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, United States, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute will be resolved in state or federal courts located in Virginia.
